A children's book filled with stories and poems; the book was edited by Brownell and illustrated with photos taken by Brownell.
Brownell was a pioneering female photographer shooting in salons in in Chicago and Philadelphia.
Brownell published 3 books in her time. 'Dream Children' has been reprinted in a modern version.
Germaine Krull - Métal
1928
Krull's classic publication features detail of the metal structure of the Eiffel Tour alongside other modern structures in Paris and Rotterdam.
A part of the 'New Vision' photography movement of the 1920/30s Krull developed both a documentary and experimental style with unconventional viewpoints.

Lee Miller - Wrens in Camera
Hollis and Carter, 1945
During the Second World War Lee Miller was the official war photographer for Vogue magazine. The images contained in Wrens in Camera were commissioned by the Admiralty and show the female navy officers and workers fulfilling their war duties. There are signallers, technicians, trainers, housekeepers and transport crews. The whole is an important document of women's roles in war-time Britain. Wrens in Camera is the only book solely by Lee Miller published in her lifetime.
